Welcome to Edgecombe Community College. We are delighted that you are interested in our college and look forward to helping you achieve your educational goals. Our diverse range of courses, programs, and support services will help you be successful.

The 2017-2018 academic year marks our 50th year of service to the residents of Edgecombe County and surrounding communities. Our first graduating class in 1969 had fewer than 30 members. In May 2017, more than 450 students received associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates during commencement exercises. An additional 42 individuals received Adult High School Equivalency and Adult High School diplomas.

Today, our student body comprises about 2,200 credential-seeking individuals as well as thousands more who enroll in continuing education classes. We pledge to make every effort to make your ECC experiences positive, meaningful, and appropriate to your objectives.

Whether you want to improve job skills, transfer to a four-year institution, or complete a program in two years or less and enter the workforce, Edgecombe Community College provides the edge to help students succeed.

Our goal is to offer education and training that is both relevant and life enhancing. In 2016, the new Biotechnology and Medical Simulation Center opened on the Rocky Mount campus. This facility provides an edge in health care education because of its unique simulated hospital environment.

In today’s job market, employers want proof that graduates are work ready. ECC gives job applicants an edge through the Career Readiness Certificate, a job skills assessment system that is utilized by employers nationwide. All students are required to take the assessment.

The college also provides an edge to students through outstanding support services in tutoring, counseling, academic advising, and financial aid, as well as committed faculty and staff who work hard to help students succeed.
