HIS 226 - The Civil WarClass: 3 Lab: 0 Clinical: 0 Credit: 3 Prerequisites: Take One Set: Set 1: ENG-090 and RED-090 Set 2: ENG-095 Set 3: DRE 098 Set 4: DRE 099 This course examines the social, political, economic, and ideological forces that led to the Civil War and Reconstruction. Topics include regional conflicts and sectionalism, dissolution of the Union, military campaigns, and the War’s socioeconomic impact, aftermath, and consequences. Upon completion, students should be able to analyze significant political, socioeconomic, and cultural developments in the United States during the era of the Civil War. This course has been approved for transfer under the CAA & ICAA as a premajor and/or elective course requirement.
